Indiana is a state in the United States. In 2000, the population was 6080485. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6376792, giving it the 14th largest population among United States. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the state has a total area of 36417.73 mi˛ (94321.49 square kilometre), of which, 35866.9 square miles (92894.84 square kilometre) of it is land and 550.83 square miles (1426.64 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 13th smallest in terms of geographical size.

In the Indiana, 25.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 10.1% were 18 to 24, 29.5% were 25 to 44, 22.1% were 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males. The median age was 35.2 years, The median age of males was 33.9 years, for females the median age was 36.5 years.
