Indian Rocks Beach City is one of the city of Pinellas County, Florida, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5072 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 5143, It is Florida's 423rd largest by population . The city comprises an area of 1.39 mi˛ (3.6 sq km), of which, 0.93 square miles (2.41 sq km) of it is land and 0.46 square miles (1.19 sq km) of it is water, it is the 207th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 5072 residents, 2700 households, and 1394 families in the city. The population density was 5454.6 people per square mile (2106.03/km˛), it would be the 100th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Florida. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 98 females. The median age was 48 years, the median age of male residents at 47.6 and the median age of female residents at 48.4. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 97.18% White, 0.3% Black or African American, 0.18% American Indian, 0.61% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 1.42% from two or more races and 0.3% Other races.
