Independence Town is a town in the Grayson County, Virginia, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Independence Town is home to 971 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 895, making it Virginia's 113th smallest. It is spread over 2.34 sq mi (6.06 square kilometre), giving it the 219th largest by total area among Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 971 people, 426 households, and 226 families residing in the town. The population density was 415.1 people per square mile (160.27/kmē), making its Virginia's 75th least densely populated town.
