Ilwaco City is a city in the Pacific County, Washington, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 950 as per the Census data. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 986, making it the 348th most populous in Washington. It covers total area of 2.37 mi˛ (6.14 sq km), of which, 2.06 square miles (5.34 sq km) of it is land and 0.31 square miles (0.8 sq km) of it is water, it is the 299th largest by area in the U.S. state of Washington.

As of the census of 2000, there were 950 people in the city, organized into 416 households, and 260 families residing in the city. The population density was 461.5 people per square mile (178.19/km˛), making its Washington's 143rd least densely populated city. There were 524 housing units at an average density of 254.4 per square mile (98.22/km˛). The average household size was 2.28 persons, and the average family size was 2.92 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 27.3% from 45 to 64, and 20% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 110.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 120.2 females. The median age was 43 years, The median age of males was 38.2 years, for females the median age was 45.2 years. The racial makeup of the city was 92.84% White, 0.53% Black or African American, 1.37% American Indian, 0.42% Asian, 0.11% Native Hawaiian, 2.95% from two or more races and 1.79% Other races.
