Idaho


Idaho is a United States's state located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. In 2000, the population was 1293953. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 1523816, It is United States's 12th smallest by population . The state comprises an area of 83570.08 sq mi (216445.51 square kilometre), of which, 82747.21 square miles (214314.29 square kilometre) of it is land and 822.87 square miles (2131.22 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 14th largest by total area in United States.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1293953 people, 469645 households, and 335588 families living in the state. The population density was 15.6 people per square mile (6.02/kmē), it is the seventh least populated state in terms of population density. There were 527824 housing units at an average density of 6.4 per square mile (2.47/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.69 persons, and the average family size was 3.17 persons. In the state the population is diverse age-wise, with 28.5% under the age of 18, 10.7% from 18 to 24, 28% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.5 males. The median age is 33.2 years, the median age of male residents at 32.2 and the median age of female residents at 34.2. Its population was estimated at 1293953 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the state was 90.99% White, 0.42% Black or African American, 1.36% American Indian, 0.92% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, 1.98% from two or more races and 4.23% Other races.
