Hutchinson City is a United States city located in the Reno County, Kansas, United States. It is home to over 40787 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 40889, making it Kansas's tenth largest. The city encompasses an area of 21.18 mi˛ (54.86 sq km ), of which, 21.11 square miles (54.67 sq km) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 sq km) of it is water, making it Kansas's 11th largest by total area.
