Hunterdon County is a one of the county from New Jersey's 21 counties, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the county was 121989 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 129031, It is the fourth least populous county in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The county extends throughout a territory of 437.76 miē (1133.79 kmē ), of which, 429.94 square miles (1113.54 kmē) of it is land and 7.82 square miles (20.25 kmē) of it is water, it is the ninth largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 283.7 people per square mile (109.54/kmē), making its New Jersey's third least densely populated county. In the Hunterdon County, 25.7% of the population was under the age of 18, 5.8% were 18 to 24, 31.3% were 25 to 44, 27.1% were 45 to 64, and 10% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.3 males.
