Hummelstown Borough, Pennsylvania is a borough of the Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2000, the population was 4360. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4424, It is the 330th largest by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The borough comprises an area of 1.4 mi˛ (3.63 square kilometre), of which, 1.35 square miles (3.5 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 564th largest by total area among Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4360 people in the borough, organized into 1879 households, and 1200 families living in the borough. The population density was 3233.6 people per square mile (1248.5/km˛), giving it the 352nd most densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 1953 housing units at an average density of 1446.7 per square mile (558.57/km˛). The average household size was 2.32 people, and the average family size was 2.91 people. In the borough the population was distributed as follows: 23.6% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 32% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 15.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males. The median age of the borough's population was 37.8 years, The median age of males was 36.3 years, for females the median age was 38.9 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 97.02% White, 0.32% Black or African American, 0.02% American Indian, 1.06% Asian, 0.07% Native Hawaiian, 0.85% from two or more races and 0.67% Other races.
