Houston County is a county in the United States of Georgia. As of 2000 the population was 110765. In July 2008, its estimated population was 133161, making it the 14th most populous county in Georgia. It covers total area of 379.83 square miles (983.76 square kilometre), of which, 376.75 square miles (975.78 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.08 square miles (7.98 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 65th largest by total area in Georgia.

There were 44509 housing units at an average density of 118.1 per square mile (45.6/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.65 persons, and the average family size was 3.1 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 28.2% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 31.8% from 25 to 44, 21.3% from 45 to 64, and 9.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.4 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 133161, The racial makeup of the county was 68.18% White, 27.64% Black or African American, 0.37% American Indian, 2% Asian, 0.07% Native Hawaiian, and 1.74% from two or more races.
