Houston City, Chickasaw County, Mississippi is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 4079. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3877, It is the 76th most populous in the U.S. state of Mississippi. Its area is just over 7.61 square miles (19.71 square kilometre), of which, 7.59 square miles (19.66 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Mississippi's 78th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4079 people in the city, organized into 1589 households, and 1089 families residing in the city. The population density was 537.4 people per square mile (207.49/kmē), it is 169th most densely populated city in Mississippi.
