Houghton City, Houghton County, Michigan is a city located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 7010. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6878, It is 151st most populous in Michigan. The city has a total area of 4.56 sq mi (11.81 square kilometre), of which, 4.31 square miles (11.16 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.25 square miles (0.65 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 161st largest by total area among Michigan.
