It is the 43rd largest by population in the U.S. state of Arkansas. It covers total area of 39.45 square miles (102.18 kmē), of which, 37.93 square miles (98.24 kmē) of it is land and 1.52 square miles (3.94 kmē) of it is water, it is the eighth largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Arkansas.
