Hot Springs County is a United States county located in the United States of Wyoming. In 2000, county's population was 4882 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4622, making it Wyoming's second smallest county. The county comprises an area of 2006.21 sq mi (5196.06 sq km), of which, 2003.89 square miles (5190.05 sq km) of it is land and 2.32 square miles (6.01 sq km) of it is water, it is the smallest by area in the U.S. state of Wyoming.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 4882 residents, 2108 households, and 1353 families in the county. The population density was 2.4 people per square mile (0.93/kmē), it is sixth least densely populated county in Wyoming. There were 2536 housing units at an average density of 1.3 per square mile (0.5/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 people, and the average family size was 2.82 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 22% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 23.3% from 25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 20% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 107.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 111.3 females. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 4622, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95.59% White, 0.52% Black or African American, 2.1% American Indian, 0.43% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 1.36% from two or more races.
