Horseshoe Bend City is one of the city of Izard, Fulton and Sharp counties, Arkansas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The city has a population of 2278 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2220, making it the 120th most populous in Arkansas. The city comprises an area of 14.59 square miles (37.79 square kilometre), of which, 13.35 square miles (34.58 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.24 square miles (3.21 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 33rd largest by total area in Arkansas. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Arkansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2278 residents, 1142 households, and 725 families in the city. The population density was 170.6 people per square mile (65.87/kmē), making it the 82nd least densely populated city in Arkansas. There were 1451 housing units at an average density of 108.7 per square mile (41.97/kmē). The average household size was 1.95 persons, and the average family size was 2.42 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 12.8% under the age of 18, 3.4% from 18 to 24, 13.5% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 45.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 115.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 118.7 females. The racial makeup of the city was 97.28% White, 0.22% Black or African American, 0.88% American Indian, 0.13% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, 1.05% from two or more races and 0.4% Other races.
