Hope Valley Cdp is a census designated place in the Washington County, Rhode Island, United States. As of 2000 the population was 1649. It is the fourth least populous in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. The census designated place comprises an area of 3.5 square miles (9.06 sq km), of which, 3.3 square miles (8.55 sq km) of it is land and 0.19 square miles (0.49 sq km) of it is water, makes it the seventh smallest by total area in Rhode Island. It is ranks 18 in the size of its inland waterways in Rhode Island.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1649 people, 630 households, and 464 families residing in the census designated place. The population density was 499 people per square mile (192.66/kmē), making its Rhode Island's least densely populated census designated place. There were 663 housing units at an average density of 200.9 per square mile (77.57/kmē). The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.06.
