Hoonah City, Alaska is a city of the Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Hoonah City is home to 860 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 715, It is the 61st most populous in the U.S. state of Alaska. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.69 sq mi (22.51 sq km), of which, 6.61 square miles (17.12 sq km) of it is land and 2.09 square miles (5.41 sq km) of it is water, making it Alaska's 100th smallest by total area.
