Hooks City is a city located in Bowie County, Texas, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The population of the city was 2973 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2954, It is Texas's 494th largest by population . The city encompasses an area of 2.06 sq mi (5.34 kmē), makes it the 823rd largest by total area in Texas.
