Homer City is one of the city of Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 3946 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5802, making it the 23rd most populous in Alaska. The city comprises an area of 22.43 miē (58.09 kmē), of which, 10.58 square miles (27.4 kmē) of it is land and 11.85 square miles (30.69 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 176th largest by total area among Alaska.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 3946 people, 1599 households, and 1009 families residing in the city. The population density was 372.9 people per square mile (143.98/kmē), giving it the 20th most densely populated city among the Alaska. There were 1873 housing units at an average density of 177 per square mile (68.34/kmē). The average household size was 2.4 and the average family size was 2.99. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 27.6% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.7 males. The median age of the city's population was 38.8 years, The median age of males was 38.5 years, for females the median age was 38.9 years. The racial makeup of the city was 3573 White, 13 Black or African American, 167 American Indian, 36 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, 124 from two or more races and 29 Ohter races.
