Holyoke City, Hampden County, Massachusetts is a city located in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 39838 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 39947, It is Massachusetts's 34th largest by population . It has total area of 22.82 mi˛ (59.1 square kilometre), of which, 21.29 square miles (55.14 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.53 square miles (3.96 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 24th largest by area in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
