According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Hollywood City is home to 139357 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 141740, It is the ninth most populous in the U.S. state of Florida. It is spread over 30.8 sq mi (79.77 square kilometre), of which, 27.34 square miles (70.81 square kilometre ) of it is land and 3.46 square miles (8.96 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Florida's 43rd largest by total area.
