Hockessin Cdp, New Castle County, Delaware is a census designated place located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 12902 people (2000 census). It is the eighth most populous in the U.S. state of Delaware. It is spread over 10.04 square miles (26 sq km), of which, 10.03 square miles (25.98 sq km ) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, makes it the fourth largest by total area in Delaware.

The population density was 1286.7 people per square mile (496.8/kmē), it is the 37th most densely populated census designated place in the U.S. state of Delaware. In the census designated place the population was distributed as follows: 26.9% under the age of 18, 4.7% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who were 65 or older.
