It is 40th most populous in Wyoming. The census designated place encompasses an area of 178.72 mi˛ (462.88 square kilometre ), of which, 177.38 square miles (459.41 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.34 square miles (3.47 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of Wyoming. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Wyoming.
