Ho-ho-kus Borough is a United States borough located in the Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 4060 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 4002, It is the 319th most populous in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough spans an area of 1.75 square miles (4.53 sq km), of which, 1.74 square miles (4.51 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 316th largest by total area among New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4060 people in the borough, organized into 457 households, and 284 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2331.1 people per square mile (900.04/kmē), it is the 306th most densely populated borough in the U.S. state of New Jersey. There were 1465 housing units at an average density of 842 per square mile (325.1/kmē). The average household size was 2.82 people, and the average family size was 3.11 people. In the borough Age distribution was 27.5% under the age of 18, 3.3% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 27.3% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 91.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.2 males. The median age was 41.1 years, the median age of male residents at 41 and the median age of female residents at 41.2. The racial makeup of the borough was 3762 White, 24 Black or African American, 4 American Indian, 212 Asian, 8 Native Hawaiian, 35 from two or more races and 15 Ohter races.
