Hinton City is a United States city located in the Plymouth County, Iowa, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 808 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 847, It is the 342nd most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. It is spread over 0.58 mi˛ (1.5 sq km), makes it the 574th largest by total area in Iowa.
