According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the census designated place has a total area of 58.44 mi˛ (151.36 square kilometre), of which, 54.29 square miles (140.61 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.15 square miles (10.75 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Hawaii's third largest by total area. It is ranks seventh in the size of its inland waterways in Hawaii.
