Hill City City is a one of the Pennington County, South Dakota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 780. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 908, It is South Dakota's 94th largest by population . The city extends throughout a territory of 0.78 square miles (2.02 square kilometre ), of which, 0.77 square miles (1.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 148th largest by size in South Dakota.
