Highspire Borough is one of the borough of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 2720 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 2606, making it the 499th most populous in Pennsylvania. Its area is just over 0.74 mi˛ (1.92 sq km), of which, 0.72 square miles (1.86 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 900th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2720 people, 1279 households, and 689 families living in the borough. The population density was 3762.6 people per square mile (1452.75/km˛), it is the 263rd most populated borough in terms of population density. There were 1373 housing units at an average density of 1906.9 per square mile (736.26/km˛). The average household size was 2.13 people, and the average family size was 2.83 people. In the borough the population was spread out, with 19.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 32.8% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90 males. The median age is 37.4 years, The median age of males was 35 years, for females the median age was 39.4 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 2356 White, 223 Black or African American, 3 American Indian, 24 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 55 from two or more races and 59 Ohter races.
