Highland Park Borough is a United States borough located in the Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 13999 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 14245, making it the 106th most populous in New Jersey. The borough has a total area of 1.84 sq mi (4.77 kmē), making it the 312th largest by size in New Jersey.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13999 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 7614.1 people per square mile (2939.82/kmē), it is New Jersey's 49th most densely populated borough. There were 6071 housing units at an average density of 3299.5 per square mile (1273.94/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.37 persons, and the average family size was 3.06 persons. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 21.7% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 37.1% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 11.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.4 males. The median age was 34.7 years, The median age of males was 33.9 years, for females the median age was 35.7 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 72.06% White, 7.94% Black or African American, 0.11% American Indian, 13.63% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, 2.59% from two or more races and 3.59% Other races.
