Henry County, Alabama is a county of the United States of Alabama. The county has a population of 16310 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 16591, making it the 14th least populous county in Alabama. The county comprises an area of 568.33 mi˛ (1471.97 square kilometre), of which, 561.8 square miles (1455.06 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.53 square miles (16.91 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Alabama's fourth smallest county by total area.

The population density was 29 people per square mile (11.2/km˛), giving it the 21st least densely populated county among the Alabama. There were 8037 housing units at an average density of 14.3 per square mile (5.52/km˛). The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.95. In the Henry County, 24.1% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.4% were 18 to 24, 25.7% were 25 to 44, 25.5% were 45 to 64, and 16.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 16591, The racial makeup of the county was 68.45% White, 30.52% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 0.07% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.73% from two or more races.
