Hendry County is a one of the county from Florida's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 36210. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 39453, It is 21st least populous county in Florida. It covers total area of 1189.79 square miles (3081.54 kmē), of which, 1152.53 square miles (2985.04 kmē) of it is land and 37.26 square miles (96.5 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 16th largest by total area in Florida.

In the county Population was distributed with 30% under the age of 18, 13.3% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 18.3% from 45 to 64, and 10.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 125 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 131.4 males. Its population was estimated at 39453 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 32935 White, 5276 Black or African American, 668 American Indian, 260 Asian, 17 Native Hawaiian, and 297 from two or more races.
