Henderson County is a county in the United States of Illinois. The county has a population of 8213 as per the 2000 census data. The county encompasses an area of 395.12 mi˛ (1023.36 square kilometre ), of which, 378.81 square miles (981.11 square kilometre) of it is land and 16.31 square miles (42.24 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 27th smallest by total area in Illinois.

For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.7 males. Its population was estimated at 7477 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 98.34% White, 0.47% Black or African American, 0.15% American Indian, 0.09% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 0.91% from two or more races.
