Helper City, Utah


Helper City is a city in the Carbon County, Utah, United States. As of 2000 the population was 2025. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 1876, It is the 117th largest by population in the U.S. state of Utah. Its area is just over 1.79 square miles (4.64 kmē), it is the 75th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Utah.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2025 people, 814 households, and 559 families residing in the city. The population density was 1132.7 people per square mile (437.34/kmē), making its Utah's 73rd most densely populated city. There were 925 housing units at an average density of 516.8 per square mile (199.54/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 persons, and the average family size was 2.97 persons. In the Helper City, 25.5% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.1% were 18 to 24, 26.1% were 25 to 44, 20.9% were 45 to 64, and 18.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males. The median age was 38.9 years, the median age of male residents at 38 and the median age of female residents at 39.7. The racial makeup of the city was 1875 White, 9 Black or African American, 32 American Indian, 5 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 23 from two or more races and 79 Ohter races.
