Hellertown Borough is a one of the Northampton County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, borough's population was 5606 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5659, It is the 243rd largest by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is spread over 1.34 square miles (3.47 sq km), giving it the 586th largest by total area among Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5606 people in the borough, organized into 2448 households, and 1572 families residing in the borough. The population density was 4180.8 people per square mile (1614.22/kmē), giving it the 218th most densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 2570 housing units at an average density of 1917.9 per square mile (740.51/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.29 persons, and the average family size was 2.85 persons. In the borough the population was distributed as follows: 20.2% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 29% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 23.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males. The median age is 41.5 years, the median age of male residents at 39.4 and the median age of female residents at 43.3. The racial makeup of the borough was 5505 White, 17 Black or African American, 4 American Indian, 11 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 31 from two or more races and 38 Ohter races.
