Hawley Borough is a borough located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1303 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1299, making it Pennsylvania's 780th largest. Its area is just over 0.64 mi˛ (1.66 sq km), of which, 0.61 square miles (1.58 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 430th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

The population density was 2132.2 people per square mile (823.25/km˛), it is 613th most densely populated borough in Pennsylvania. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.9% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 19.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 82 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 77.2 males. The median age is 40.8 years, The median age of males was 38.7 years, for females the median age was 43.2 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 97.24% White, 0.92% Black or African American, 0.15% American Indian, 0.38% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1% from two or more races and 0.31% Other races.
