Hawkins County, Tennessee is a county located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. The population of the county was 53563 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 57477, It is the 24th most populous county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It covers total area of 499.63 square miles (1294.04 sq km), of which, 486.66 square miles (1260.44 sq km) of it is land and 12.97 square miles (33.59 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 40th largest by total area among Tennessee's county.
