As of 2000 the population was 3709. making it the 54th most populous in Hawaii. It covers total area of 25.57 sq mi (66.23 sq km), of which, 25.45 square miles (65.92 sq km) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 sq km) of it is water, it is the 13th largest by area in the U.S. state of Hawaii.
