Havre City is a one of the Hill County, Montana, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 9621 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 9575, It is the eighth largest by population in the U.S. state of Montana. The city comprises an area of 3.46 mi˛ (8.96 square kilometre), makes it the 87th largest by total area in Montana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9621 people, 4015 households, and 2450 families living in the city. The population density was 2778.2 people per square mile (1072.67/km˛), giving it the tenth most densely populated city among the Montana. There were 4400 housing units at an average density of 1271.7 per square mile (491.01/km˛). The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.95. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 13.6% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males. The median age is 34.5 years, the median age of male residents at 31.5 and the median age of female residents at 37.1. The racial makeup of the city was 8378 White, 11 Black or African American, 867 American Indian, 47 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 267 from two or more races and 49 Ohter races.
