Haskell County is a one of the county from Kansas's 105 counties, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 4307 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 3919, It is the 31st smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Kansas. The county has a total area of 577.73 square miles (1496.31 kmē), of which, 577.37 square miles (1495.38 kmē) of it is land and 0.36 square miles (0.93 kmē) of it is water, it is the 17th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.


As of the census of 2000, there were 4307 people in the county, organized into 1481 households, and 1154 families residing in the county. The population density was 7.5 people per square mile (2.9/kmē), it would be the 64th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Kansas. There were 1639 housing units at an average density of 2.8 per square mile (1.08/kmē). The average household size was 2.88 persons, and the average family size was 3.35 persons. In the Haskell County, 32.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 9.1% were 18 to 24, 27.8% were 25 to 44, 19.5% were 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.3 males.
