Harvey County is a county located in the United States of Kansas. As of 2000 the population was 32869. Its population was estimated at 33675 in July 2008, It is the 16th largest in terms of population. The county encompasses an area of 540.5 sq mi (1399.89 square kilometre ), of which, 539.33 square miles (1396.86 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.17 square miles (3.03 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the tenth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.

In the county the population was distributed as follows: 26% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.6 males. Its population was estimated at 33675 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 32072 White, 639 Black or African American, 238 American Indian, 205 Asian, 13 Native Hawaiian, and 508 from two or more races.
