Hart County is a county located in the United States of Kentucky. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 17445 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 18561 in July 2008, It is the 61st largest in terms of population. The county has a total area of 417.91 mi˛ (1082.38 square kilometre), of which, 415.93 square miles (1077.25 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.98 square miles (5.13 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 30th largest in terms of geographical size.

In the county Age distribution was 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.2 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 18561, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 17384 White, 971 Black or African American, 41 American Indian, 19 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 140 from two or more races.
