Harrisburg City is one of the city of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the city was 48950 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 47148, It is 11th most populous in Pennsylvania. It covers total area of 11.44 square miles (29.63 kmē), of which, 8.11 square miles (21 kmē) of it is land and 3.33 square miles (8.62 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 40th largest by total area in Pennsylvania. It is ranks third in the size of its inland waterways in Pennsylvania.
