Harrisburg City is a city located in Saline County, Illinois, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. Harrisburg City had an official population of 9860 in 2000. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 9582, It is the 206th most populous in the U.S. state of Illinois. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.38 mi˛ (16.52 square kilometre), of which, 6.24 square miles (16.16 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.14 square miles (0.36 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 165th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
