Harrington City is a city in the Kent County, Delaware, United States. In 2000, city's population was 3174 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 3435, giving it the 24th largest population among Delaware. The city encompasses an area of 2.03 square miles (5.26 sq km ), of which, 2 square miles (5.18 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, making it Delaware's 23rd largest by total area. It is ranks 18 in the size of its inland waterways in Delaware.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 3174 people, 1223 households, and 825 families residing in the city. The population density was 1587.1 people per square mile (612.78/kmē), it is the 26th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Delaware. There were 1328 housing units at an average density of 664 per square mile (256.37/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.6 persons, and the average family size was 3.13 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 31.3% under the age of 18, 9% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 18.4% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 84.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.8 males. The median age of the city's population was 32.4 years, the median age of male residents at 30.9 and the median age of female residents at 34.
