Harmon County is a one of the county from Oklahoma's 77 counties, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The county has a population of 3283 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 2843, It is second least populous county in Oklahoma. The county spans an area of 538.56 miē (1394.86 kmē), of which, 537.82 square miles (1392.95 kmē) of it is land and 0.74 square miles (1.92 kmē) of it is water, it is the seventh smallest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 3283 people, 1266 households, and 863 families residing in the county. The population density was 6.1 people per square mile (2.36/kmē), it is eighth least densely populated county in Oklahoma. There were 1647 housing units at an average density of 3.1 per square mile (1.2/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 people, and the average family size was 3.03 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 25.9% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 24.1% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 21% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 2843, The racial makeup of the county was 83.29% White, 12.28% Black or African American, 2.25% American Indian, 0.63% Asian, 0.07% Native Hawaiian, and 1.48% from two or more races.
