Haralson County is one of the 159 county of Georgia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Haralson County is home to 25690 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 28979, making it the 59th most populous county in Georgia. Its area is just over 283.16 square miles (733.38 square kilometre), of which, 282.11 square miles (730.66 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.05 square miles (2.72 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 51st smallest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 91.1 people per square mile (35.17/kmē), giving it the 50th most densely populated county among the Georgia. There were 10719 housing units at an average density of 38 per square mile (14.67/kmē). The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.03. In the county Age distribution was 26.1% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 105 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 109.7 females. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 28979, The racial makeup of the county was 26896 White, 1629 Black or African American, 68 American Indian, 112 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 272 from two or more races.
