Hanover County is a United States county located in the United States of Virginia. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Hanover County is home to 86320 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 99716, It is Virginia's 17th most populous county. The county comprises an area of 474.08 sq mi (1227.86 square kilometre), of which, 472.68 square miles (1224.24 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.4 square miles (3.63 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 36th largest by size in Virginia.
