According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Hanover Cdp is home to 8162 inhabitants. making it New Hampshire's 20th largest. It has total area of 4.96 mi˛ (12.85 sq km), of which, 4.55 square miles (11.78 sq km) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.04 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 24th largest by total area among New Hampshire. It is ranks 13 in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.
