Hanover Borough is a one of the York County, Pennsylvania, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 14535 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 15025, giving it the 62nd largest population among Pennsylvania. The borough encompasses an area of 3.65 sq mi (9.45 square kilometre), making it Pennsylvania's 167th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 14535 people, 6605 households, and 3819 families living in the borough. The population density was 3981.7 people per square mile (1537.34/kmē), making its Pennsylvania's 237th most densely populated borough. There were 6982 housing units at an average density of 1912.9 per square mile (738.57/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.16 persons, and the average family size was 2.81 persons.
