The county extends throughout a territory of 573.14 square miles (1484.43 square kilometre ), of which, 571.11 square miles (1479.17 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.03 square miles (5.26 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 48th largest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.
