Hamilton County is a county located in Texas, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The population of the county was 8229 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 8092 in July 2008, It is the 78th smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 836.38 miē (2166.21 kmē), of which, 835.71 square miles (2164.48 kmē) of it is land and 0.67 square miles (1.74 kmē) of it is water, it is the 60th smallest in terms of geographical size.
